This is a 3-month-old boy with multiple congenital anomalies, including
cleft lip and palate, heart murmur, poor weight gain and feeding, and
failure to thrive. Barium swallow showed an abnormal posterior
indentation on the esophagus. A CT scan was performed to confirm these
findings. A right-sided aortic arch and an aberrant left subclavian
artery crossing obliquely behind the esophagus was found. In retrospect,
the right aortic arch was evidenced on the barium esophagogram,
characterised by the characteristic deviation of the distal trachea to
the left (as is seen in the 3D reconstructed images).
This movie has the image with x at 90 degrees, and rotation in the y direction. The red is the aorta, the green is the esphogaus, the blue is the SCV, the purple is the pulmonary artery, and the yellow is the trachea and bronchus.
