Tracheal Stenosis - Case 12

Patient History for Tracheal Stenosis

This patient had moderate severe idopathic sub-glottic stenosis, with distal tracheal post stenostic dilatation. This case, which had recurrent stenosis with repeated laser treatments, was successfully treated with a Dumon stent across the stenosis. The stent in place just below the vocal cords. This was left for four months before removal, with no reoccurence of the stenosis.

The original trans axial section 62 slice Cine CT data set of a patient. The volumetric data acquisition of 3 mm thickness with a 1 mm overlap of the slices which includes the larynx, the trachea, and the lungs.

Surface Display of airway.

This movie is of the airway from the larynx to just above the main bronchus. This movie rotates about the y axis in ten degree increments.
