Case 6:Tracheal Stenosis

Patient History

This case shows the tracheal obstruction in a patient with airway papillomatosis. At bronchoscopy the right main bronchus could not be located, however, the image on the right clearly shows it to be present. The tracheal tumor was cleared out, using laser, but still the right main could not be seen. At that stage, during the same procedure, a catheter was inserted through the tumor masses, and the right main located using an intra-operative bronchogram. The right main was then balloon dilated, and then the airway could be seen, and lasering of the papillomas continued.
