ROI:Magnification Panel

The Magnification menu item under the Properties menu button on the Region Of Interest (ROI) window calls up the ROI:Magnification panel. This panel allows the user to scale and pan images on the ROI panel. The upper half of the window is used to magnify the image. The lower half of the window is used for panning the image.

Magnification Sliders

To zoom in and out on an image, use one of the two sliders located directly under the words pixel magnification. Dragging the slider rectangle to the right will increase the image magnification. Dragging the slider rectangle to the left will decrease the image magnification.

Tie x,y Button

The tie x,y button sets the rescaling to be the same in both the x- and y-directions. This button is almost always selected, so that the image is not stretched in either direction.

Full Screen Button

The full screen button fits the entire image on the ROI canvas.

Panning Sliders

The lower half of the window is used for panning the image. The two sliders in the bottom half of the screen allow the user to move the image left, right, up, or down. Moving the x slider to the right, moves the image to the left allowing you to see the right side of the image. Moving the x slider to the left, moves the image to the right allowing you to see the left side of the image. Moving the y slider to the right, moves the image upward allowing you to see the bottom of the image. Moving the y slider to the left, moves the image downward allowing you to see the top of the image.

Use Pixel Dim Button

The use pixel dim button displays the images in real dimensions when actual measurements are done on the images. To select and unselect the use pixel dim option, left-click on the use pixel dim button.

Interpolate Button

Selecting the interpolate button smoothes the image by doing a low pass filtering of the image. To select and unselect the interpolate option, left-click on the interpolate button.
