The Select Volume/Extract Edges button opens up the Surface Render: Extract edges panel. This panel is for selecting a image volume file and then selecting the edges of an object from this data set. For more information.
The Load Edges button brings up the Surface Render: Load Edge File.
To load an edge image file from disk click on the disk button. Either type in the directory and the file name without the ".edg" ending on the directory: and the file: lines or use the Load Analyze Format Menu(see Loading Image Data) to scroll through and select the directory and the edge image file to be loaded. After making the appropriate selection then click on the load button. Then the Select Volume Panel will disappear unless the push pin is pushed in. The file is now ready to be displayed in the Surface Render panel. (Click on the Render button to see display.)
Save Edges Button
The Save Edges button opens up the Surface Render: Save Edges panel. Use this to save the edge image data created in Select Volume/Extract Edges panel. Type in the directory and the file name without the ".edg" ending on the directory: and the file: lines. Click on the Save button. This will create a file called <filename>.edg.
Save Image Button
The Save Image button opens up the Surface Render: Save Image panel. Use this to save the original image data to a new diskspace. Type in the directory and the file name without the ".img" ending on the directory: and the file: lines. On the dimensions - X, Y lines the pixel dimensions are listed. User may change this by either typing a new value on the line or using the up and/or down buttons. Make sure the pixel dimensions are even numbers or it will crash the program the next time the image file is loaded! Click on the save image button. This will create a new copy of the image file called < filename > .hdr and < filename > .img in Load Analyze format.
